DVI

DVI, or Digital Visual Interface, is a video display interface that allows for the transmission of digital video signals from a source device to a display device. It was developed as an improvement over analog VGA connections and provides a high-quality digital video connection.

DVI supports both analog and digital signals, making it compatible with older analog displays as well as newer digital displays. There are three main types of DVI connectors: DVI-D, DVI-A, and DVI-I. DVI-D connectors transmit only digital signals, DVI-A connectors transmit only analog signals, and DVI-I connectors can transmit both analog and digital signals.

DVI has been widely used in the past for connecting computers to monitors, projectors, and other display devices. However, it has largely been replaced by newer video interfaces such as HDMI and DisplayPort, which offer enhanced features and support for higher resolutions. Despite this, DVI can still be found on older devices and is sometimes used in specific applications where compatibility with older equipment is required.
